FDC a key tourism player in the northern region

With the successful bid for the privatization of the former Mimosa Leisure Estate in Clark Freeport Zone, Filinvest Development Corp. (FDC) is now poised and ideally located to develop the estate and be a key tourism player in the northern region. Today, it carries the name Filinvest Mimosa Estate, with a refreshed promise and perspective toward residential, leisure and industrial development. Primarily, the acquisition is part of FDC’s aggressive plunge into the tourism industry in the north, as they anticipate the growth of business in the area, which is located a few minutes away from Clark International Airport and a hundred kilometers away from Metro Manila. In the next 5 years, FDC is set to invest P5 billion in the property to include three more hotels and massive improvements on the golf courses.

Birth of new Quest Hotel

Today, the property refurbishment has paved the way for the birth of the new Quest Hotel & Conference Center, ushering in a cool, clean and comfy promise to local staycationers, leisure seekers and business travelers.

Since its opening in August, it has already been host to guests and meetings and, as its name suggests, conferences, with its spacious function rooms. The hotel also has a restaurant, a bar, a swimming pool with a bar, a fitness center and a grand ballroom that can seat up to a thousand people.

As Pampanga is known to be a culinary capital, Quest Hotel also prides itself with its most superb and most sumptuous all-day buffet at the Café Mequeni, delectably flavored desserts and coffee treats at the Mequeni Deli, and the unique cocktail combinations of Charley’s, the hotel’s bar.

Chroma Hospitality, the hotel management company of Filinvest Development Corp., said the new hotel is part of Filinvest’s strategy to be a major name in the hospitality industry since it began in 2012 first with the opening of Crimson Resort and Spa in Mactan, Cebu and the other Quest Hotel in Cebu City.

Two more Quest hotels are also being planned for Tagaytay and Dumaguete. Chroma currently operates the Crimson brand in Mactan, Cebu and Filinvest City Alabang. The highly anticipated Crimson Resort and Spa Boracay is also set to open in 2017.

Renowned courses

The Filinvest Mimosa Estate is home to the Mimosa Golf Course, which reopened last June to the delight of golfing aficionados and professionals. The renowned courses, designed by international golf course architects Nelson & Haworth, is home to two, par-72, 18-hole courses, ready for weekend friendlies or competitive tournaments alike.

Filinvest has already invested over P200 million worth of improvements in the popular course, for the replacement of the irrigation systems, purchase of new greenscaping machinery and repair of sand traps, fairways and greens.

Driving range

Most recently, Mimosa Golf’s driving range has reopened for players who would like to perfect their swings before they hit the greens. Its rates are pegged at P300 per hour for an unlimited number of balls, P100 for 80 golf balls and P50 for 30 golf balls.

Mimosa Golf is also home to the Veranda, now being managed by Cravings Manila. The restaurant is a newly revamped dining experience that offers time-honored, home-cooked style meals as well as a diverse selection of international dishes for those looking for something different.
